Divorce, Separation Share Your Story

Divorce is painful.

But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother [to be joined to his wife] and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate. (Mark 10:6-9)

I used to think, as I believe many well-meaning but naive people do, that it takes two people to divorce, but the more stories I hear, the more I realize it is often very one sided. Not that any of us is perfect, but while it takes two people to make a marriage work, it takes only one to destroy a marriage.

After separation or divorce those same well-meaning but naive people often think life gets better, but for many, the pain of divorce is complicated by the ongoing struggles, financial pressures. Government was never meant to be involved in the sacrament of marriage and our inept and powerless judicial system is easily influenced by monied spouses, political pressure, and human flaws.

If you would like to share your story or expose judicial injustice, please do so here. Please do not include any identifying information that could put you, your children, or others in jeopardy. Single Mom Smiling reserves the right to revise or edit submissions, especially to protect the safety and identity of those involved; however, you are responsible for your own safety. If you think you are in danger or really struggling physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or financially, please seek professional help and protection immediately.

Thank you for sharing.

God Bless…
